French-Sports. Morina Morcos

In french, we just finished learning about different sports. We learned about sports that we play in winter, and sports we play in summer.

Some sports we play in winter are: La raquette, le patinage/le patinage artistique, du ski alpin, du ski de fond, au hockey, est au curling.

Some summer sports are: Du velo/le cyclisme, de la natation, au football, du canotage, du patin a roulettes, au basketball, de l'equitation, le soccer, le tennis, le volley-ball, le baseball, le ski nautique, est le badminton.

RECYCLE!!

Today I will be sharing with you some information about recycling.
Recycling is the process of making or manufacturing new products, that has already been used in its own way. Items you can recycle are usually made out of aluminum, plastic, water bottles, and certain types of paper. Recycling is important because it helps make the life longer of something that has already been used. This does not only benefit us humans, but it helps our earth and environment in many ways

For an example we know that paper is made from trees getting cut down and manufactured in factories. When we recycle, we can reduce the amount of trees getting cut down, and reuse our paper by recycling it and helps our environment. Recycling also saves energy because it takes less power to process recycled items than it does processing items from raw material. So remember to always to recycle!!!!!!! 

      

            In Social Studies, we are learning about cultures. A culture consists of traditions, beliefs, foods, languages, religions, clothing and more.  In Canada, we have a multicultural environment, which was a result of immigration. This means that we have many different types of cultural heritage in Canada. Under multiculturalism all citizens are treated equally.

            Canada helps people in a culture be equal with other people in another culture through the charter of rights. There are also many cultural festivals or events like Winnipeg’s Folklorama, where people from a culture can celebrate and share their heritage with other people. These gatherings also help people understand and respect other cultural backgrounds.

            

Literature Circles E.L.A.

Hello, everyone! My name is Rohan and I am here to talk about Literature Circles, also knows as Lit Circles for short. Lit Circles are meetings about certain books to encourage thoughtful discussion and a love of reading in young people. Here is an overview of what a Lit Circle really is; small groups of students gather together to discuss a piece of literature in depth. The discussion is guided by students' responses to what they have read. You may hear and talk about events and characters in the book, the author's craft, or personal experiences related to the story. Literature circles provide a way for students to engage in critical thinking and reflection as they read, discuss, and respond to books.  It is a way of increasing a student's interest in books because socializing and education are mixed into one category, Lit Circles! As Mrs. Sosnowski's Grade  7 E.L.A. students, we are all divided into groups of 5's and 6's, with each group reading and responding to a different book based on interests and reading levels. Each book is divided into six sections, with each section being a different amount of pages. For every section, there is a meeting, every Monday and Thursday. For every section, we are supposed to write a summary about what we read and we are asked to answer a teacher question, varying for every section. Everyone also has jobs to complete about the section, and the jobs are the following: Discussion Director, Word Wizard, Character Analyzer, Story Mapper/ Predictor, Connector/Travel Tracker, and Researcher. My group consists of me, Ryan, Zayda, Yeji, and Michael, and we are reading the book called "Now is the Time for Running". I find Lit Circles to be interesting, and I think it is a unique way of expressing ideas. Gym low organized games

  Good morning 7A

    In our gym class, the subject we are learning but mostly playing is low organized games. In this unit we basically play games and do some conditionings such as weight lifting and running. the last game we played in this unit was capture the flag dodge ball, this game was invited by our gym teacher. the games is like dodge ball but there are flags on each side. Once you passed the side to grab a flag it is no more dodge ball, it turns into tag. My favorite game was bench ball. I was one of the tallest so it was easy for me.

 

  the way you play and set up bench ball is you take benches and opposite of the gym. One you have that you can pick a player form your team to go and stand on the bench. people from your team have to throw the ball at the player on the bench, if the player on the bench catches the ball  you get to help him catch and join him on the bench, once your whole team is on the bench you win.

E.L.A Grammar

Grammar is often a generic way of referring to any aspect of English that people object to (though grammar doesn't just apply to the English language). So this basically means that grammar is the logical aspect of a sentence, (if a sentence makes sense or not). It requires one to have a common & logical sense. Languages can be confusing at times, so grammar is the logical understanding of a sentence, which is composed of a predicate, a subject (though sometimes more than one subject or predicate), & proper punctuation, as well as other things and such but for now let's move on.

 

Here is an example of good grammar - I am well educated.

 

Here is an example of bad grammar- I is good! educated?

 

As you can see knowing which synonym & antonym is very vital for grammar as well. One also must be used to the English language, since grammar isn't just about writing properly, but saying and or speaking properly (though some of us may have accents). For example, if a man had said to you

 

"You bad?" you probably don't know what he means by that. If someone else had said to you

 

"You don't look so good" you most likely know what he or she means, or at least have more of a clue.

 

Contractions are also quite important for they are shortened versions of 2 words. One example of a contraction is don't. An example of a word that people believe is a contraction but really isn't, is ain't.

Ain't isn't a proper contraction because there are no other words that can build upon this contraction.

Though contraction isn't that much vital when talking to someone, but are quite important when writing.

 

So to summarize grammar is quite vital when being educated, it is the logical aspect of sentences, paragraphs, etc. & without it, none of us would understand what we're saying to each other. Though slang is a different topic and may defy some rules of grammar, but in a sense, is some other people's aspect (idea) of logic, since an idea, aspect, sense of logic may vary.

A percentage is a number expressed as a fraction. The percent symbol looks like this: %. A percentage can be converted into a decimal, and a fraction. In the world you will see percentages in your electronic device, at the shopping center ,and many more other places or things. A percent is always out of 100. Percent means per 100. A decimal is used to separate whole numbers less than 1. A decimal was originally named decimus (in Latin), then to decimalis (modern Latin), and finally decimals (in the 17th century). In the world you will see decimals in drinks and in pi (3.1415926535...) A fraction has a numerator and a denominator.

 A fraction is a part of a whole number. In a fraction the numerator represents equal parts. In a fraction the denominator cannot be 0. A fraction can be also shown as a ratio. A fraction can be converted into a decimal Ex:1/4= 0.25
